Sarah Bäumchen

Sarah Bäumchen is a member of the executive board at ZVEI, the German Electro and Digital Industry Association. She is responsible for the political affairs activities of the association, with offices in Frankfurt, Berlin, Cologne, Brussels, and Beijing.

ZVEI represents more than 1100 member companies, with a special emphasis on the enabling roles of industry regarding the two megatrends:  electrification and digitalisation. Before joining ZVEI, Bäumchen has worked in different positions for the party of the Liberal Democrats (FDP) in Germany. In her last posting, she was the head of communications and campaigning of the party.

Previously, she has been working for the FDP group at the German parliament, with a focus on economic and energy policy. Bäumchen  has also worked for the association of the German Metals Industry, serving as their head of political affairs and communications. She is a graduate of Humboldt University in Berlin (B.A.) and Brown University, RI (M.A.), majoring in history and American studies.
