DIGITALEUROPE DIGITALEUROPE DIGITALEUROPE CIRPASS-2

Digital Product Passports (CIRPASS-2)

July 2024 – September 2026

CIRPASS-2 builds on the original CIRPASS project, piloting Digital Product Passports (DPPs) across textiles, electronics, tyres, and construction. It aims to demonstrate DPP interoperability and large-scale deployment for circular economy use cases, in alignment with EU standards and regulations. CIRPASS-2 will assess the effectiveness of DPPs, focusing on consumer and stakeholder satisfaction, as well as the environmental and economic benefits of DPP-enabled value chains.

In CIRPASS-2, DIGITALEUROPE leads efforts focusing on communication, dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability. DIGITALEUROPE is responsible for positioning CIRPASS-2 as a benchmark for DPP development across industries, maximising knowledge transfer, and promoting long-term impact. By designing an agile stakeholder management strategy, DIGITALEUROPE builds a strong network across EU sectors to support and sustain DPP initiatives. Additionally, it ensures ongoing visibility for CIRPASS-2’s achievements and fosters lasting synergies that will extend the benefits of Digital Product Passports well beyond the project’s duration.

The CIRPASS-2 project is funded by the European Commission under the Digital Europe Programme.

Impact of the Project:

  • Deploy and validate Digital Product Passports at scale and in real-life settings through 13 pilots across 4 target value chains.
  • Contribute to standardisation efforts related to the DPP and assist SMEs in adopting DPPs.
  • Demonstrate viable circular business use cases using DPP data and cross-pilot interoperability.
  • Support the deployment and adoption of DPPs in other sectors targeted by upcoming European regulations and beyond.
