Traineeship Description 

Interested in meeting hundreds of the most influential companies on the planet? Getting keen insights on a wide range of industry sectors transforming digitally? Learning about the hottest digital policy issues debated by international governments? Then you need to apply as we are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Membership Recruitment and Relations Trainee   

The role will allow you to part of a fun and cool team of international policy professionals growing the membership of DIGITALEUROPE.   

We have grown exponentially the past decade with the world’s leading companies in digital and key industries including transport, health, finance, defence, green and energy.  

You will be instrumental in maintaining smooth internal operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and enabling business-critical strategic growth. The ideal candidate will take ownership of key administrative functions and support outreach to a growing strategic European vertical pipelines. 

Required Competencies and Skills 

  • Exceptional Organisational Abilities: Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines. 
  • CRM and Data Management Expertise: Proficiency in CRM systems and reporting processes, with the ability to analyse and optimize workflows for enhanced operational efficiency. 
  • Outstanding Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in additional European languages is a plus. 
  • Proactive can-do attitude and Solution-Oriented.  
  • Collaborative Team Player: you enjoy a fast-paced environment. 
  • Process Improvement Mindset: Passionate about driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, impact, and member experience.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Sales Outreach and CRM Management

  • Support the sales team on systematic and regular outreach initiatives to engage potential members and expand strategic pipelines. 
  • Support the planning, preparation, and follow-up for impactful sales meetings with prospects. 
  • Help us optimise lead databases and CRM systems to ensure seamless lead tracking, timely reporting, and accurate member records. 
  • Gain insights through developing actionable insights through periodic pipeline reports to drive membership growth strategies.

Event Logistics

  • Flagship & Policy-related Events: Ensure key prospects are invited, registered, and engaged through strategic participation in flagship and policy-related events. 
  • Recruitment Events: Take charge of planning, organizing, and executing recruitment events to drive membership acquisition and engagement.

Membership Processes and Onboarding

  • Coordinate and execute critical membership processes, including New Member Applications, Support onboarding, where you will meet heads of public affairs offices and helping to ensure a seamless experience for all stakeholders. We promise you will get a good understanding of a wide range of digital policy issues and insights to business strategies and priorities.  
  • Act as the central point of coordination across teams, ensuring timely follow-ups and successful completion of membership-related tasks.

Resource and Content Management

  • Keep all sales materials, presentations, and policy slide decks current and aligned with the latest strategic objectives. 
  • Help enhance existing materials and design new resources, such as membership offers and vertical pitch brochures, to support member acquisition and engagement. 
  • Help drive innovation in content creation to ensure a compelling narrative for prospective and current members. 

Details of training and supervision 

You will join a growing and dynamic team of 60 and will get hands-on training from staff, with regular learning opportunities. Your work will be supervised by a line manager. We work a mixture of office and remote work 

Opportunities to practice language skills 

The working language is English, but there are plenty of opportunities to practice French and other languages in the multicultural Brussels environment. 

Dates and duration 

From February 2025 for six months (flexible). 

Nationality/visa restrictions  

Only EU nationals or candidates with the necessary paperwork to work in Belgium will be considered. 

Remuneration

Paid traineeship (in addition to any possible funding received from your sending university). 

Requirements

  • A student enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s programme (typically in EU affairs, politics, international relations or law) or a recent graduate.  
  • Strong analytical skills and interest in politics and communications. 
  • You are very organised and timely. 
  • You are hands-on, motivated, friendly and approachable. 
  • You have good editing and proofreading skills. 
  • You have strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a results-driven mindset. 
  • You can conduct desk research and contribute information to policy papers.
