Vacancy: Intern for the Single Market & Competitiveness Policy

Together with our members, we shape the industry policy positions on all relevant legislative matters and contribute to the development and implementation of relevant EU policies. Traineeship Description 

  • Support the policy team with day-to-day activities across different policy areas (industrial strategy and better regulation, standardisation, investments & innovation, digital skills). 
  • Drafting reports and preparing summaries. 
  • Conducting desk research on various topics. 
  • Support the organisation of events, meetings, agendas, and presentations by helping with the logistics and content.  
  • Attend internal and external meetings, draft minutes. 
  • Draft ppt presentations and coordinating members input. 
  • Monitor EU policy developments. 
  • Support in the development of DIGITALEUROPE policy papers. 
  • Communications with members and external stakeholders. 

Details of training and supervision 

You will join a growing and dynamic team of 60 and will get hands-on training from staff, with regular learning opportunities. Your work will be supervised by a line manager. We work a mixture of office and remote work 

Opportunities to practice language skills 

The working language is English, but there are plenty of opportunities to practice French and other languages in the multicultural Brussels environment. 

Dates and duration  

From January 2025 for ten months (flexible). 

Nationality/visa restrictions  

Only EU nationals or candidates with the necessary paperwork to work in Belgium will be considered. 

Remuneration

Paid traineeship (in addition to any possible funding received from your sending university). 

Requirements

  • A student enrolled in an undergraduate or masters programme (typically in EU affairs, politics, international relations or law) or a recent graduate.  
  • Strong analytical skills and interest in politics and communications. 
  • You are very organised and timely. 
  • You are hands-on, motivated, friendly and approachable. 
  • You have good editing and proofreading skills. 
  • You have strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a results-driven mindset. 
  • You can conduct desk research and contribute information to policy papers.
