(Senior) Policy Manager – Digital Transformation of Financial Services

DIGITALEUROPE is seeking a (Senior) Policy Manager for the Digital Transformation of Financial Services. As we expand our representation of companies navigating the digitalization of financial services, we require a candidate with an understanding and a passion to learn financial services policies such as FIDA, PSR, Digital Euro, and Capital Markets.

The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge of EU institutions and the co-decision-making process, along with excellent organizational, and mastery of the English language. This role reports directly to the Senior Director for Digital Transformation Policy.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities for the next European Commission Mandate

  1. Policy Coordination and Industry Position Preparation:

We see digital playing an increasing role in the financial services sector.  The delta of AI, cybersecurity and data will drive new rules and require important dialogue with key stakeholders. DIGITALEUROPE has a very diverse membership of banks, payment and credit services, insurance, digital, platform, software and hardware development, and accountancy companies amongst many others engaging in important work that will define the future of financial services.

The work entails engaging industry leaders in public events, following key policies, and ensuring our members are actively engaged and contributing expertise.  DIGITALEUROPE also has a priority in promoting the enabling potential of digital for financial services. The role will also include collaborating with our national trade associations as well as the communications and outreach team to promote and advocate the enabling potential for this sector.

Specifically:

  • Follow the legislative agenda where digital and financial services are discussed or being implemented.
  • Organise a roundtable with executives from our membership, key NGOs, and legislators in 2025 to discuss the contribution of digital for financial services.
  • Support an outreach effort towards the Commissioner, DG or Ministers to engage our Director-General and members as well as maintain an active network of policymakers across the key services, Council, and European Parliament.
  • Ensure that DE’s Manifesto 2030 proposals are taken on board by the EU Commission and EU Member States as well as our thought leadership papers.
  • Participation in industry events.
  1. Support for Recruitment Goals:
  • Work with the Senior Member Relations Manager to support communication and marketing efforts aimed at attracting and growing membership.
  • Ensure high-level presence in key government-industry conferences, DIGITALEUROPE’s high-level executive vertical councils, and workshops focused on digital issues impacting the finance services sector.

Key requirements

  • Strong understanding, experience, and/or a passion for Finance and digital with equally strong knowledge of the EU institutions
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Hands-on, delivery-driven attitude, always willing to go the extra mile to achieve objectives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; English at a native speaker level.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to function effectively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of, and networking within, the digital technology sector is a plus.
  • A structured approach with strong analytical and research skills is a plus.
