Operations Support Traineeship

Traineeship Description 

  • Support the association’s annual processes (including elections, budgeting and policy prioritisation) by designing online forms, preparing supporting materials and presentations and carrying out data analysis; 
  • Enhance the association’s business intelligence systems by assisting in the regular update and maintenance of key databases, ensuring data accuracy and usability for strategic planning and decision-making; 
  • Facilitate internal coordination and alignment across teams by assisting with the organisation of meetings, preparing materials, and documenting discussions through concise and actionable meeting minutes. 
  • Provide support in stakeholder consultation activities for strategic reports by assisting with interview scheduling, note-taking and summaries preparation. 

Details of training and supervision 

You will join a growing and dynamic team of 60 and will get hands-on training from staff, with regular learning opportunities. Your work will be supervised by a line manager. We work a mixture of office and remote work 

Opportunities to practice language skills 

The working language is English, but there are plenty of opportunities to practice French and other languages in the multicultural Brussels environment. 

Dates and duration  

From 15 January 2025 for 6 months.  

Nationality/visa restrictions  

Only EU nationals or candidates with the necessary paperwork to work in Belgium will be considered. 

Remuneration

Paid traineeship (in addition to any possible funding received from your sending university). 

Requirements

Educational Background: 

  • Degree or academic background in Law, Political Science, Business Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. 

Analytical and Technical Skills: 

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail; 
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and CRM systems; 
  • Experience with data analysis and visualisation tools is an asset; 

Organizational and Time Management Skills: 

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently; 

Communication and Writing Abilities: 

  • Very good drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and professional written materials. 
  • Comfortable preparing presentations and summarising complex information effectively. 

Personal Attributes: 

  • Proactive, hands-on attitude with a self-motivated approach to problem-solving. 
  • Friendly, approachable and collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills. 
  • A team player who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
