DIGITALEUROPE’s reaction to Donald Trump's inauguration

Today, the 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump, was inaugurated.

Director General of DIGITALEUROPE Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl said:

“Congratulations to President Trump on his inauguration.

We are entering a new era of unprecedented international security challenges. The future of transatlantic relations between the US and allies will define global security and at the heart of security are dual use and critical technologies.

The US excels in AI, quantum, and chips. The EU leads in connectivity, additive manufacturing, and green and clean tech. {LINK TO STUDY IN COMMENTS} Together, we can build a transatlantic democratic digital powerhouse. That’s why we call for a “Dual-use and Critical Technology Council” bringing together politicians and industry leaders.

Critical technologies and dual-use will define our common economic and military security, let’s advance AI, cybersecurity, connectivity, drone tech [and others] to protect our critical infrastructure, from our power and water supply to hospitals and airports.

Collaboration is no longer optional – it’s vital. Let’s join forces to safeguard the future of democratic citizens”
