Digital Transformation & Mobility Policy Intern

Key Responsibilities & Job Description 

Work with an exciting and fun team advocating the responsible and fast adoption of digital technologies in key policy areas, in particular mobility.  You will also learn about issues impacting at a legislative and political level for health, finance, defence, building, and green tech.   

 Our staff seeks to ensure that you obtain training in such areas as government affairs, communications, and political outreach. Many interns who worked at DIGITALEUROPE have since taken permanent roles amongst our staff or with our many global members and national trade associations.

You will work alongside not only senior managers and directors but with over a dozen other interns on our staff.  Our association also arranges both fun and strategic awaydays, workshops, training sessions, and dinners. 

Key areas we need your help:    

  • Support Core Organizational Processes: Take charge of essential internal processes, leading the approval of policy areas the team works on and ensuring seamless execution and alignment with our strategic goals. 
  • Support on key political events: including key initiatives where you can work with our members in the development of events and Executive Level Policy Councils. 
  • Support Policy Leadership: support work in the working groups You will get support and training to analyse, and lobby on specific files

Key Requirements 

  • A student enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s programme (typically in EU affairs, politics, international relations, or law) or a recent graduate.  
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of various projects and responsibilities. 
  • Technological proficiency in managing digital tools, spreadsheets, and databases. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English 
  • A basic understanding of the co-decision-making process and digital policies is preferred

Details of training and supervision

You will join a growing and dynamic team of 60 and will get hands-on training from staff, with regular learning opportunities. Your work will be supervised by a line manager. We work a mixture of office and remote work.

Opportunities to practice language skills

The working language is English, but there are plenty of opportunities to practice French and other languages in the multicultural Brussels environment.

Dates and duration

From 1 October 2024 for ten months (flexible).

Nationality/visa restrictions

Only EU nationals or candidates with the necessary paperwork to work in Belgium will be considered.

Remuneration

Paid traineeship (in addition to any possible funding received from your sending university).
