Future Unicorn Award 2019

  • The “Future Unicorn Award” aims at celebrating SMEs from across Europe which have the potential to become the future European Tech giants. It puts under the spotlight young companies from across Europe which have demonstrated to be successful in digitising their business processes and scaling up throughout Europe and beyond.

Each of the national trade association from DIGITALEUROPE’s membership are given the chance to nominate one company from their membership. This results in a truly pan-European selection of incredible companies.

In 2018, eleven companies were shortlisted and the winners of the first award were announced on 20 February at the Masters of Digital, where Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel distributed the Awards.

The 2019 winners are

  • MaaS Global from Finland

    Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) is the integration of various forms of transport services into a single mobility service accessible on demand. Through the Whim app users can make a single payment and use all mobility services.

  • Teslasuit from the United Kingdom

    TeslaSuit is a smart clothing company that produces a suit with haptic feedback, motion capture, temperature control and biometrics for enhanced virtual experience and training.

  • Umbraco from Denmark

    Umbraco is an easy-to-use and flexible open source Content Management System. In the last 3 years, it has grown three-fold.

    ASTI is a robotics company specialised in intralogistics transport solutions through automated guided vehicles.

  • DataConcept s.r.o. from Slovakia

    DataConcept helps its customers to make better use of marketing automation & customer analytics. It specialises in creating personal business concepts on the basis of behavioural data.

  • Envelio GmbH from Germany

    Envelio is an energy software company that facilitates the integration of renewables and electronic vehicles charging points for grid operators.

  • Ivalua from France

    Ivalua is a procurement platform that digitises the entire end-to-end process involved in procurement.

  • iyzico from Turkey

    iyzico is a Fintech company that provides secure payment solutions to online companies and personal sellers of different sizes.

  • LearnUpon from Ireland

    LearnUpon is an EdTech company that provides a Learning Management System to help businesses deliver, manage, and track training for their employees, partners, and customers.

    Patronite is a relationship building platform that helps artists and creators obtain subscription-based funding and grow relationships with their fans.

  • Qwant from France

    Qwant is a web search engine based on three values: openness, neutrality and confidentiality.

  • Rombit from Belgium

    Rombit is a platform that digitises ports and cities to become more automated and secure.

  • TeleSoftas from Lithuania

    TeleSoftas is a consulting and software development service company that provides bespoke solutions in mobile, big data, FinTech, communications and other sectors.

  • Tooploox from Poland

    Tooplox helps startups and enterprises refine their user experience by integrating machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing and audio analysis into software products.

  • Turbine from Hungary

    Turbine is an eHealth company that enhances cancer drug discovery processes by taking trial and error out of the laboratory and moving it onto servers that can run millions of simulated experiments in minutes.
