New study outlines the benefits of e-labelling scheme in Europe 22 Jun 2018
On 21 June, Anneleen Van Bossuyt, Member of the European Parliament and Chair of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), hosted an event presenting the findings of a study for the introduction of electronic labelling (“e-labelling”) in Europe. The study was independently conducted by VVA and commissioned by DIGITALEUROPE and the Mobile & Wireless Forum.

The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 aims to address the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data. It is seen in the EU as an essential step to strengthen citizens' fundamental rights in the digital age and to facilitate business by simplifying rules for companies in the digital single market. A single law will also do away with the current fragmentation and costly administrative burdens.

On 1 March, DIGITALEUROPE published its new position paper on the Electronic Communications Code (ECC), the core piece of legislation poised to revamp the European telecoms framework.
