• The Spanish National Coalition will award the best projects contributing to boosting digital skills in Spain

    25 April 2018Having population and digitally trained workforce is crucial to boost Spanish competitiveness and inclusive digital society. That’s why the best projects that allow the development of digital skills in school, work and society in general will be recognised.

    The Spanish National Coalition, coordinated by AMETIC together with Red.es - public corporate entity belonging to the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and the Digital Agenda (MINETAD) announced on 17 April the first edition of "Digital Skills Awards Spain 2018".

    Improving adoption of digital technology is one of the priorities of the Digital Single Market and the New Skills Agenda for Europe, where the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition is a leading initiative.

    The best projects that allow the development of digital skills in school, work and society in general will be recognised. The initiatives should be easy to expand and replicate in other cities, regions, countries and sectors.

    The projects can be submitted in six categories:

    • digital skills for all (to allow, all citizens’ active participation in the digital society);
    • digital skills for the labor market (for the digital economy, for example, to improve the qualifications and retraining of workers, jobseekers, professional advice and guidance);
    • more and better trained ICT professionals (for ICT professionals in all industrial sectors);
    • digital skills in education (transformation of teaching and learning in digital skills from a perspective of lifelong learning, including teacher training);
    • digital skills for women and girls (to highlight the importance of closing the gender gap in digital skills);
    • digital evolution in the media (contribution to the evolution of the functioning of human societies through communication the new digital scenario).

    Submissions are open until 11 May 2018.

    Only organisations with registered office in Spain are eligible for submitting the project.

    Especially educational centers, universities, companies, institutions and media, that carry out projects related to the identification, orientation and development of digital talent are invited to participate.

    The awards will be handed out in mid-June at the 1st Forum of the Alliance for the Development of Digital Talent organised by AMETIC, in Madrid.
