• DIGITALEUROPE brings together leaders from EU institutions and ICT industry

    30 June 201727 June 2017, DIGITALEUROPE hosted this week the second edition of the Digital Advisory Council (DAC) bringing together senior EU officials and executives from the ICT business sector with a clear-cut brief: to discuss how best to deliver on common goals towards the digital transformation that Europe is currently undergoing for the benefit of all Europeans and all businesses, large and small, operating across Europe.

    Following an introduction by DIGITALEUROPE’s President Markus Borchert, C-level executives and policy-makers were walked through the study ‘Facing the data economy: Last call for Europe!’ released on this occasion. Amongst the key topics discussed and moderated by Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, Director General:

    • Free flow of data in the EU
    • GDPR
    • Defining the digital DNA: trust and skills
    • The future of growth in the European data economy
    • The next frontier: Artificial Intelligence, robotics.

    Actions identified in the course of this rewarding session will be shaped and implemented shortly. The DAC will keep on engaging with the EU institutions’ leadership on a continuing basis.
